I totally promised a post for last week, but my lovely friend Sara was updating the blog/switching over my hosting, so I didn’t want to mess with anything. Thanks to Sara, the blog is back to its full functioning. Woot! Excuse me while I ramble a bit before I get to the actual training log…
The last two weeks have been quite the rollercoaster. Andy and I changed our wedding ceremony location (crazy because we are less than 6 months out from the big day, but it had to be done. I’m not mad about it), I kind of started Vegetarian Whole 30 again last Wednesday (I’m going to stick to the rules on weekdays until March 1st and cheat a maximum of 3 times on the weekends. My name for this is more like the “Partial 14” rather than the “Whole 30,” HA! I work better with balance, but let it be known that I have NOT had ANY cheese since January!), and my grandfather/last living grandparent passed away yesterday. Andy lost his grandmother/last living grandparent back in November. Both of them lived full lives and neither was sick for too long, but the timing of it all is very sad. We won’t have a single grandparent from either side at our wedding.
Things are a bit nuts around here, but I have been able to get my exercise in somehow! My training has not been perfect, but I can tell that I’m getting in way better physical shape than I have been in a LONG time. It feels great to eat healthy and lead a healthy lifestyle. Like our grandparents did, I am hoping to lead a long and healthy life 🙂
Aside from running a few more miles these days, I’m also walking more, too! I have been walking dogs with the Wag! app! It is in my top 3 best jobs ever (and I have had a lot of jobs; my bank as a teen knew me as the girl who was always working). If you have a dog, definitely use my code MELISSA8219 for your first free Wag! walk. When Andy and I get a dog next year, I’ll probably use this app from time to time.
OK, now to the training!
Monday: 1 hour yoga practice
Tuesday: 30 minute tempo run
Thursday: 2 miles + strength
Saturday: 4.5 mile long run (was supposed to be 4 miles, but I made a wrong turn, haha)
Tuesday: 3 mile run
Wednesday – Friday: Rest. I don’t know why I missed so many days. Oops.
Sunday: 4 mile long run!
Week 1 was practically perfect in every way, but Week 2 was just OK. I got through all of my runs last week, but failed to do yoga or cross train. I’m going to try and cross train regularly, but it’s always the first thing I sacrifice 🙁
I’m off to run a few miles in honor of my grandpa before work this morning!
Have a great Tuesday!
