Happy Workout Wednesday, everyone. I’m proud to say that I continue to remain focused on my goals, which center on achieving a higher level of physical fitness. As I mentioned in other posts, I gained around 7 pounds total since last year and I really want to lose it. I’ve been tracking my calories on MyFitnessPal, am more mindful about how much/what I eat, and am trying to exercise in different ways/more often. As the title of my post says, I’m still going strong with all of this. I’m really proud of myself. Andy and I attended a brunch wedding for his cousin on Sunday, which had a buffet. I wanted to try the veggie wrap and hash browns, but also knew it would be beneficial to get in some veggies. I ate the wedding cake and had a couple mixed drinks on Sunday, which I think is fair because weddings don’t happen every weekend 😉 Gratuitous photo that has very little to do with Workout Wednesday:
^Andy and I clean up nice, right?! Let me just tell you that the wedding was at River Roast in downtown Chicago. The cocktail hour was held outside, right there (in the background of the above photo) on the Chicago River. Holy cow, the whole thing was so cool – it was an excellent wedding and venue. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect on Sunday; it was in the 70s!
Anyway, because of the wedding, I didn’t make it to the 5 workouts last week. I mean, I did if you count dancing at the wedding, haha. I’m going to give myself a pass 😛
Last Week’s Workouts
Monday: 1 hour yoga class with a new (AMAZING) instructor. We even did some ab work in this class.
Tuesday: Elliptical + weights
Thursday: Elliptical + weights
Friday: 3.5 mile run with Oksana
Saturday: Rest, but took a nice long walk around the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago 🙂
Sunday: Some dancing at the wedding, as mentioned
My workouts were OK and my eating was healthier than usual last week. The scale read that I am still 2 pounds down from the original 7 I gained, so there’s some measurable progress happening over here! I would say that last week was a WIN. I’m on my way to a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Do you try to eat healthy at events like weddings or do you go all out?
