Workout Wednesday 11/02-11/08

It’s been quite a long time since my last “real” Workout Wednesday post – since marathon training – actually! Lately, as I mentioned, I’ve been trying to focus a bit more on lifting weights instead of running. I have a 5k race on Thanksgiving, but I don’t plan to try very hard during it. My friends and I like to run for fun before having Thanksgiving dinner with our families 🙂 flying-turkey I am proud to report that I stuck to my plan to lift weights twice last week, practice yoga once, and do some cardio on another day. It already feels like I’m getting stronger! Monday: 1 mile run. I tried to run 3 miles, but I was so sore from lifting weights with Oksana on Sunday. My whole body was in pain; I’m surprised that I made it that mile because everything HURT. At least I tried, ha! Tuesday: Rest Wednesday: 1 hour of yoga Thursday: Lifted weights Friday: Rest Saturday: Lifted weights Sunday: 30 minutes on the elliptical This week, I’m hoping to try running again. Aside from that 1 miler, I have literally not run since the marathon! I feel ready to get back into it. I wasn’t necessarily burned out on running after the marathon, but it’s always good to take a break. Until January, I’m going to keep running very casual. THEN, it’s time to start training for the Shamrock Shuffle 8k! I’m honestly much more focused on building some muscle right now than I am on my running, and that’s totally OK 🙂
