Chicago Marathon Training 06/29 – 07/05

Another successful week of marathon training is in the books. Heck yes! The biggest deal for last week was my 9 mile run because I hadn’t run more than 7 miles since 2014. Luckily, the 9 miler went swimmingly ๐Ÿ™‚ Now I feel super confident about completing 10 miles this weekend. Running long distances is so satisfying – I totally forgot about that. Seriously, I love marathon training so far. Training for the Chicago Marathon has been lovely for my mental and physical health. I haven’t felt this in shape in years. Just today, I was thinking about how much my life has changed since my last marathon in 2012 – and all the changes were for the best ๐Ÿ˜€ Marathon training helped me get through a really hard time in my life and crossing that finish line felt even sweeter because of it. I just can’t wait to do it again, but first I am going to enjoy the ride (AKA training)!

Wearing my American Cancer Society singlet from the marathon in 2012! Ignore my chin acne and chipping nail polish. I never claimed to be perfect, HAHA!

Last Week’s Workouts

Monday: 3 miles + 1 hour of yoga

Tuesday: Rest

Wednesday: 4 miles

Thursday: Rest

Friday: Walked over 10,000 steps, according to my Fitbit. I’ll count that as cross training.

Saturday: 9 mile long run

Sunday: Rest

I thought I’d do something new on my Workout Wednesday posts and record my Fitbit steps for the previous week. It will be cool to watch them grow throughout marathon training!

Fitbit Steps: 72,757

How were your workouts last week?
