First of all, I apologize for not posting on Monday. I didn’t have enough to say to warrant a blog post. I still do have a little bit to say that’s not running-related, though! So, before I start telling you guys about my training, I need to let you know how happy I am that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage! Eeeek! In my opinion, marriage equality has been a long time coming… not to get all political on my blog or anything – just had to mention it. To celebrate, Andy and I attended the Pride Parade here in Chicago! It was my first time going and I had a BLAST! Last week was also exciting because it was my first *official* week of marathon training. So far, I’m on track. I’m a little nervous for my 9 mile long run this coming weekend, though. It’s been a long time since I ran that distance. The longest run I’ve done in 2015 is 7 miles. Nine miles shouldn’t be too much different than 7… I hope 🙂 Last Week’s Workouts Monday: 3 mile run Tuesday: Long walk along the Evanston lakefront with Britta. This is becoming an amazing Tuesday tradition! Wednesday: 4 mile run! Thursday: 20 minute run/walk while coaching the running club. It was my first opportunity to coach because our other sessions got rained out. I had so much fun and loooooved interacting with the group 🙂 Friday: Rest Saturday: Rest Sunday: 6 mile long run. The first run with my new watch: the Garmin Forerunner 10!! If anyone wants to be friends on DailyMile or follow my workouts in “real time,” my account is here! Let’s be friends!! What is your newest fitness-related purchase? Does your town have a Pride Parade?
