Welcome to Mel’s Miles, a blog centered around my journey towards living a healthier life.

My name is Melissa (or you can call me Mel) and I live in Chicago. Currently, I’m finishing up my MA in Counseling and getting ready to train for the 2015 Chicago Marathon! Positivity is my passion and I believe that a good life requires work.  I plan to write about the small efforts I make in hopes of achieving higher levels of health and happiness. I love running and finished the 2012 Chicago Marathon in 4:32:57 – a time that makes me very proud! I’ve also run 8 half marathons and various shorter-distance races since falling in love with running back in 2010. I can’t wait to run my second marathon this year 😀
