Gratitude Friday: Life is Full of Surprises Edition

Yesterday something happened that really surprised me. I’m going to be annoying and not say what it is because I’m just not ready to talk about it yet. Let’s just say that I imagined the next few months of my life to look a certain way, but new opportunities presented themselves, and that vision has altered significantly. It’s amazing how much can change in only one day.

I’m grateful that there really is always something good around the corner. Truthfully, I’ve been in a rut for a couple years now. Being in grad school limited certain aspects of my life and I was pretty resentful of it. It seemed that I was working so hard on different things and not getting anywhere. My hard work is starting to really pay off and I am so grateful.

I’m grateful for my internship. I was terrified to start it, but I now cannot imagine my life without the experience. The people I’ve met have given me so much knowledge and support. I will miss them when I leave in August.

I’m grateful for exercise. This month has been really hard, school-wise. I have combatted stress successfully by yoga, running, and ellipticalling. It’s amazing what a little movement does for the mind!

I’m grateful that this blog is not my job. I gave myself permission to refrain from posting here when I’m busy with other things. It feels good to remind myself that I don’t *have to* post. I want this space to be a place to relieve stress rather than create stress.  I’m really behind on Workout Wednesday posts, but let me assure you that I am working out regularly.

I’m grateful that the seasons change here in Chicago. Just as my life is changing, so is the weather. Things are growing, temperatures are rising. It’s all wonderful 🙂

I’m grateful for my gym. I love seeing other people exercise because it motivates me to exercise!

I’m grateful to be visiting Andy this weekend! He usually visits me, but now I’m going to see him 🙂 I’m glad we’re switching it up!

I’m grateful that Andy and I saw Book of Mormon last weekend! Tickets were my Christmas gift to Andy. We had a fabulous date night on Saturday 🙂

I’m grateful for life’s surprises. Without them, things would be so boring.

What are you grateful for today?

Tell me about the last time you were pleasantly surprised by something in your life!
