Workout Wednesday 02/16-02/22

Happy Workout Wednesday! Today I am pleased to report that I completed every single run on my flexible training schedule for the Shamrock Shuffle 🙂 This is the first time I ran 3x in a week in 2015. Pat on the back for me!

As you know, I’ve been thinking a lot about self-care lately. Not only in the physical health way, but in the mental health way. I have been more stressed out than ever this year, with health problems plaguing my family, an internship, a job, classes… It just never seems to stop. It got me to thinking about why I’m adding this running plan into the mix. I mean, wouldn’t that be more stressful?

I realized that running calms me down. There were very few times in my life that I was happier than when I started running regularly. All those endorphins… All that race bling. I’ve missed it. 



Perhaps running does add another item to my to do list, but it’s something I really want to do. It’s something that makes me happy and gives me an outlet for my frustrations. 

Here’s what I did last week:

Monday-Wednesday: Nada

Thursday: A 30 minute tempo run with the Duggars. 



Don’t judge me too much for loving 19 Kids and Counting…

Friday: Nada

Saturday: 2.5 mile easy run

Sunday: 3 mile long run!



There you have it! Now you guys know I watch a lot of TLC while on the treadmill. I ain’t even embarrassed. This is, however, part of why I won’t get cable for my apartment. If I had cable, I’d watch Keeping up with the Kardashians  all day, every day! I’m trying to finish grad school here! Gotta focus 🙂
