Several weeks have passed without a Gratitude Friday post. I almost didn’t write one for today, but I’m feeling super grateful and really need to get back into my habit of writing these. I highly suggest that you guys try writing a list of things you’re grateful for right now – it feels amazing 🙂 You should do it not just when you feel good, but also when you feel down. This is why it’s important to be habitually grateful, in my opinion. I’m grateful for my internship and for being a therapist in training. I let my insecurities get the best of me working in this new field, but I had a good week at my internship and felt so much more confident in my work. I now have more clients and it has been such a joy to get to know them. My supervisor has started listening to recordings of my sessions and gave me so much helpful feedback. Things are good. I’m grateful for my job. Working in a field I’m familiar with really helps when I’m also dipping my feet into a new field. I go to work and spend all day with people who have become my second family after 4 years of working together. I’m grateful that my cousin Rachel is getting MARRIED in August! I have about a million cousins on my mom’s side and many have married by now. However, Rachel is the first of us kids on my dad’s side of the family to walk down the aisle. This is going to be such a fun celebration. I can’t wait! The best part is that the wedding is at a resort in Minnesota. ROAD TRIP! I’m grateful that I still have my glasses from when I was 18. I swear, when I got my glasses back in the day, I really didn’t need them. Now, since I work 6 days per week and spend the other day doing homework on a computer, I’ve developed an eye strain. I need to go to the doctor badly, but wearing my glasses while working has (at the very least) temporarily cured me. I’m sure my prescription needs to be updated, though.
Do I look smart? I definitely look like I need to get my eyebrows threaded…
I’m grateful for Workout Wednesday. This has been such a motivator for my exercise habits. I weighed myself on Thursday and saw that I finally lost those pesky 5 pounds I gained since finishing the marathon in 2012/starting to date Andy. I cleaned up my eating recently, but I think it’s regular workouts that finally got me out of my plateau. I feel like a weirdo obsessing over 5 pounds, but it was more of a health/”slippery slope” concern than a vanity thing.
I’m grateful that I rediscovered my Fitbit! My Fitbit stopped working back at the end of October and I sort of forgot about it. I read an article about how to fix it and it miraculously works again 🙂 Now I can compete with friends and track my fitness! WOO!
I’m grateful for you guys. THANK YOU for reading my blog <3 I really do love this space and want to continue writing/increasing the number of posts I produce each week. I’m taking a huge test tomorrow and have tons of other work to do, so you may not hear from me until next Friday. POSSIBLY Wednesday if I have any energy left. I did promise another Workout Wednesday post… We will see if I can deliver!
What are you grateful for today?
Do you wear glasses?
