You guys, I have been sick since December 30, 2014. Yes, that means I’ve had a cold since last year. Granted, it is just a slight cough at this point, but still. I can’t do any tough workouts. Even a light bike ride affects my breathing. My main issue with this cold is congestion, so I suppose that makes sense. All I can do is wait this evil illness out, which is what I’ve been trying to do. Laying low doesn’t make for interesting blog posts, but it’s something I’ve gotta do 🙂 Anyway, let’s get on with the gratitude! I’m grateful that I finally registered for the NCE (licensing exam for counselors). The deadline to register is today and I registered on Wednesday. Almost major procrastination territory, but not really. The exam is in April, so I should get cracking with the whole studying thing. Though prior to that, I have another big test in February that my grad program makes us take in order to graduate. So many tests, so little time! At least taking these exams signifies just how REAL graduating is for me now!! I’m grateful that my cousin Kat is coming back to Chicago for the weekend! I’m staying at my parents’ place so that I can avoid driving to and from the city to see her. It will be just like old times.
My aunt tagged Kat, Oksana, and me on a Facebook post featuring this image. This is exactly what I needed to see as such a “green” counselor. My cousins are both new in their careers, too, so it’s awesome that we all understand the struggle. I’m grateful for Gilmore Girls on Netflix! Thanks to being sick, I’m almost through the entire series. I started the series back in October, so it took me a few months at least 😉 I’m grateful that snow is pretty.
I’m grateful for my family. I’m grateful for my clients! I’m grateful for my job and my internship. Both are a great fit for me at this point in my life. I’m grateful that I’m about to register for my first race of the year soon!!!!! I miss running and writing about running. My congestion wouldn’t allow me to run without having a coughing fit, so I’m extra pumped to start a training plan now 🙂 What are you grateful for this Friday? What are you up to this weekend?
