Two Awards, One Post

TWO awesome bloggers nominated me for awards this week.  Instead of flooding you with random facts about myself in two separate posts, I condensed the awards into one post. Enjoy 😀 Liebster Award liebsteraward   The wonderful Oksana of Othingsbeauty nominated me for this award! She’s pretty much awesome and you should all visit her blog for useful beauty tips. Rules

11 Facts I’m going to skip this part because the next award revolves completely around random facts. That’s a lot of facts about little old me. While I enjoy attention (I wouldn’t have a blog if I didn’t), I don’t think I have it in me  to talk about myself that much today 🙂 11 Questions 1. What is one product you are currently obsessed with (any category)? I’m still really obsessed with my new yoga mat. Let me post an overused photo of it again 😉 20140620-091325-33205163.jpg   2. If you could be an animal, what kind of animal would you be? A dog for sure! They have so much energy and are always happy. 3. If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be? Don’t be afraid to speak your mind. There have been so many instances when I left important things unsaid.  I wish my younger self would have had the guts to bring up difficult topics with certain people.  Also, I would tell my younger self to stop worrying about what other people think. I still kind of suck at both of these things, but am making slow progress! 4. What is one product you can’t live without (beauty, life, fitness, etc)? I cannot live without my iPhone; my attachment to it is RIDICULOUS and super embarrassing. In fact, I broke my phone last December and sobbed for days straight (it took me a long time to get a new one because I was looking for the most inexpensive way to replace it, haha).  My iPhone serves as my alarm clock, internet (I tether to my computer instead of paying for wifi in my apartment because I’m cheap), communication device, camera… I could go on and on. Losing my phone was like losing my entire connection to the world. So grateful to have a replacement now. There does not seem to be a question #5, so I’ll skip to #6 🙂 6. What are your goals for the future? I want to learn a ton at my internship next year, find a new job in my field once I graduate, move out of this apartment, open my own business someday, grow my blog, write a book, teach some sort of exercise class, buy a house, get married, have kids, run a sub-2 half marathon, complete another marathon and PR, eat more vegetables, etc etc etc… I want it all, you guys. 7. Are you an introvert or an extravert? EXTRAVERT. No doubt about it. 8. What is your favorite movie, book, TV show, and/or song? Movie: Bridget Jones’s Diary Book: Probably The Princes Diaries because it is the first book I ever loved TV show: Sex and the City Song: That’s a tough question, but probably something by Regina Spektor. 9. If you could change anything about today’s world, what would it be? No more violence. Let’s talk about our problems, do relaxation exercises, and compromise instead 🙂 10. If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it? First, I’d pay off my debt.  Then I’d buy cute little house, decorate it a little, help loved ones with their debt, invest the majority of what is left of the money, and donate some to charity. 11. If you could travel in time, what period would you go? Probably the 1990s. It’s a lame answer, but those days were so simple (this may be because I was a little kid back then, but whatever). I liked the lack of smart phones! So much more face-to-face social interaction! Very Inspirational Blogger Award inspiringbloggerThis award is from Briterati! I’m so excited that I am inspiring to someone who inspires me. In fact, this post from Brit inspired me to go for a run on the lakefront the other day! Rules

7 Facts 1. When I want to get something done, I almost always put on the Rent soundtrack. It’s my productivity music 🙂 2. The only time I use my laptop is for school projects or for typing up blog posts.  Other than that, I do most “recreational” internet activities on my iPhone. 20140714-115456-42896163.jpg 3. Aside from figure skating in high school, my other main extracurricular activity was singing in choir. I auditioned for choir in college and sang with them for 3 years. I hated it the whole time because I was the only member of the choir who was not a music major.  I wanted to sing for fun, but the group took everything so seriously. I finally quit my senior year; it was the first time I quit something and actually felt good about it. 4. I’m organized, in that I know where everything is, BUT I’m very messy. My apartment is an organized mess 🙂 5.  I was very scared of heights as a child. It was so bad that I couldn’t even look at tall buildings, which is funny because I grew up near Chicago and traveled downtown relatively often. I’m much better now, though! I even went on the Skydeck at Willis Tower a couple of summers ago. skydeck 6. I can be very nostalgic sometimes, which is part of the reason why I have a blog! Being able to look back at my life and remember all of the adventures I’ve had is such a gift. Blogging rocks. 7. I’m an only child! People always want to know WHY. This really ticks me off because I did not choose to be an only child. My parents basically were not planning to have children at first, but then decided to have one at the last minute. They were in their mid/late thirties when I came into the picture. By the time I was born, it was pretty much too late (in their minds) to have more kids. SO, here I am 🙂

Instead of nominations, here are some questions for all of you to answer in the comments section: Are you addicted to your cell phone like I am? Are you an introvert or an extravert?  What would you do with a million dollars? Have you ever been happy to quit something? How many siblings do you have?
