I’m feeling extra grateful today because my cousin Kat is visiting from Boston! I wish she could stay here forever, but that definitely won’t happen. We’ve done some fun things this week, but nothing too epic because we’re (as always) on a budget 😉 I’m grateful for yoga. Kat and I went to my uncle’s yoga class on Wednesday night. It felt so good to stretch for an hour after running two races on back-to-back weekends.
I’m grateful that Andy bought me a yoga mat (see above) for my birthday! He made a great choice – that yoga mat is beautiful and its shades of green help me feel calm 🙂 I’m grateful that I earned a free drink on my Starbucks gold card AND got to spend my free birthday drink this week. Free lattes are the best, but free birthday frappucinos are even better!
I’m grateful for my half marathon PR! Do you know how good it feels to run a distance faster than you’ve EVER run it? If you do, then you’re probably already addicted to running like I am 😉 I’m already looking into training plans for a sub-2 half at the end of the summer. More details soon!!
I’m grateful that I’m spending the weekend at my parents’ house. My friend asked me to watch her dog, which my landlords would not allow. Going to my parents’ place means it will be easier to deal with the doggy and I’ll be near family while Kat is in town! Similarly, I’m grateful that I’m finally not (well, not really, my parents only live 20 minutes away from me) going out of town for a weekend. I’ve literally left chicago every single weekend for the last month!! It’s time for some relaxation 🙂 I’m grateful that I got to play videographer for a hair cutting tutorial! My cousin Oksana cut Kat’s hair and did a fantastic job. Check out the video at Othingsbeauty. You will be amazed by my filming skills (and Oksana’s hair cutting skills, obviously).
