Shamrock Shuffle 8k Training: Week 6

I felt so guilty about my lackluster training last week, but I needed a break! In fact, I already completed my long run for this week because I’m going out of town again after a half day of work this Saturday. I feel awesome now! Rest is SO IMPORTANT and sometimes I fail to recognize that. Seven miles were a breeze on fresh legs 🙂 Anyway, I’ll talk about the seven miler in next week’s training recap because this post is all about week six. Here’s what I did:

20140318-143148.jpg Pretty lame, huh? At least I did something! Monday: Much needed rest 😀 Tuesday: Walked a heck of a lot… 6 miles, according to my Fitbit. Only about 3 miles were for exercise purposes (mostly to count for my Pact via Map My Run). Wednesday: Easy 3 mile run. Thursday: Another easy 3 mile run! Friday: Rest. Saturday: Too busy getting my drink on, as described in my last post. Sunday: Definitely not feeling up for running 😛 As you can see, I took things SUPER easy. This definitely paid off because I feel ready to finish strong with my training and run the Shamrock Shuffle in less than 2 weeks! I’m not worried about stepping back and still believe I have a chance at a PR 🙂
