Welcome to Mel’s Miles, a blog centered around my journey towards living a healthier life.

My name is Melissa (or you can call me Mel) and I live in Chicago.  Positivity is my passion and I believe that a good life requires work.  I plan to write about the small efforts I make in hopes of achieving higher levels of health and happiness. You can find out a little more about me in this post.


I love running and finished the 2012 Chicago Marathon in 4:32:57 – a time that makes me very proud! I’ve also run 8 half marathons and various shorter-distance races since falling in love with running back in 2010.


In 2014, I plan to focus on achieving personal records on my mile through half marathon times. A list of my past races and PRs can be found here. My eating habits are less healthy than the were before running the marathon last year, so I hope to try out healthy recipes and post about them on this blog as well.
