In Need of Some Gratitude

I’m feeling particularly moody today for some reason. Maybe it’s the ridiculously long to-do list I wrote up last night or just little things at work not going right today. Whatever it is, I think it’s time to write about some GRATITUDE because life is GOOD! I’m grateful for space heaters because it’s FREEZING today. Regular heat isn’t enough in this old building. I know space heaters can be pretty dangerous, but I’m keeping a close eye on it. I refuse to be cold. 20140124-114715.jpg I’m grateful that I love my graduate program! I have to take a class about children, which is something I wasn’t too excited about before I walked into the room. However, the professor is so passionate about the topic and I see now just how valuable the knowledge I gain from this class will be in my future. I have a newfound respect for little ones, too 🙂 I’m grateful that I love running again! For this one, I have to thank my friend Sara, my new Fitbit, GymPact (I’ve already earned almost $2, which is obviously not much, but more than I would have earned without the app!), running the Tinker Bell Half on zero training and my curiosity over what would happen if I ran a half with training, and registering for the Shamrock Shuffle 8k!

20140124-112852.jpg (source) I’m grateful that I can write papers quickly because I had (a very short) one due at 4:15pm yesterday. I finished it in 30 minutes and received full points. Woohoo! I’m grateful that I do such rewarding volunteer work at a residential community for people with disabilities. I didn’t expect to get so much out of this opportunity, but I LOVE IT. I think the residents I work with give me more than I give them <3 I’m grateful that my résumé questions were all answered yesterday. Time to finalize my internship application packet! I’m grateful for gratitude lists. I felt so unmotivated this morning, but now I see that there is so much good in my life. I’m ready to take on my pesky to-do list because it’s worth the payoff. And this concludes my gratitude list for today. I really do feel so much better 🙂
